Elmore County Fair Manager
The Fair Manager is a contract position averaging approximately 25hrs./week and is primarily responsible for managing the annual Elmore county fair and rodeo. Additional responsibilities include managing the year-round fair facility located in Glenns Ferry, Idaho. All marketing activity and ad production is planned and implemented by the Fair Manager. The Fair Manager is responsible for Fair Board communications, budget planning and administration, contracts, payrolls and accounts payables, as well as supervising employees, vendors and contractors day-to-day, during the fair and for special project and/or events. The Fair Manager conducts public relations activities including interfacing effectively with media, public officials, and members of the public, vendors and subcontractors. The position requires use of a private vehicle and personal insurance. Mileage is not reimbursed. The position reports directly to the Elmore County Fair Board and the incumbent must reside in Elmore County.
We seek a unique, enthusiastic and dedicated professional whose key responsibilities are:
- Govern Fair development and production including scheduling, stall rentals, maintenance.
- Govern all activities related to the annual Elmore Country Fair and Rodeo.
- Coordinate and oversee subcommittees to the annual Fair (Queen and Rodeo).
- Think creatively to design and implement fair activities.
- Establish excellent relationships with employees, subcontractors, elected and appointed officials, Fair Board, volunteers, local business and community organizations.
- Develop, implement and manage fundraising/sponsorship efforts, maintaining sponsor relations.
- Manage the year-round fair facility, including scheduling, stall rentals, maintenance.
- Recommend and oversees capital improvements as approved by the Fair Board.
- Plan, organize and coordinate the work of employees performing assigned tasks.
- Utilize effective supervisory and motivational techniques.
- Design and implement operating budget for facility and annual Fair and Rodeo, reporting as needed.
- Coordinate prompt payment of all accounts payable and payroll using standard accounting practices and procedures, with approval of the Fair Board.
- Supervise the design/revision of necessary contracts, information forms, business communications and flyers.
- Govern fair development ad production for: entertainment, home arts, vendors, carnival, and rodeo.
- Manage design and implement marketing, media relations, public relations campaigns including printed material development, radio, television and newspaper advertising.

Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED is required, with college coursework or a Bachelor’s Degree in event planning or related field, preferred.
- Two (2) years of previous event planning experience preferred.
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to perform a wide variety of duties and responsibilities with accuracy and speed under pressure of time sensitive deadlines.
- Operate a motor vehicle.
- Operate standard office equipment including proficiency in personal computers.
- Work varied hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Ability to prioritize, organize, and delegate assignments.
- Must reside in Elmore County
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Successful completion of a complete background investigation through the National Crime Information Center (NCIC).
